I don’t care if you’ve been trying to learn to play guitar for six minutes or two years.. If you’re keen to learn guitar from scratch, or want to improve your current ability, you need to read on ..

Dear Future Guitar Shredder:

Hi Guys and Gals, I’m Scotty Smith, owner of  learntheguitarlessons.com..

I know that you can learn to play guitar fast, by using what I consider to be the very best guitar lessons available on the internet.

Have you ever wondered why some people seem to have a “knack” of being able to play guitar?

Like most guitar players, I never really wanted to admit that my playing sucked.. but I will confess, that I had long-suffered with trying to piece together guitar theory and playing.

Anyway… after a friend of mine suggested that I check out a revolutionary online guitar lessons course, I thought I would give it a bash..

Yet I have to admit I was little bit more than skeptical. You see you need to understand… I had gone through two music teachers, bought the classic “guitar lessons book and licks track” that everyone buys and had even had a buddy of mine try and teach me. But I had never been able to put my finger on that special “something” which connects it all together.

That’s why my expectations going into this weren’t high. As you read on, I’ll tell you more about how that worked out for me.

Could 200,000 Other Beginner Guitarists Be Wrong?

My personal #1 Rated online guitar course (Jamorama) claims that it has taught over 200,000 people how to play guitar, and that you don’t need to know anything about guitar and that it can fast-track a guitarists learning.

In fact, they claim to have created a guitar learning technique that was created by a University psychologist for training fingers to automatically remember all the chord shapes in a third of the usual time that it takes.

Master the Guitar Now

Originally started by guitarist Ben Edwards and co-founders Mark Ling, David Mckinnon and Jon Coursey over 6 years ago, they have gone on to become one of the most popular learn guitar sites around. They have a full-time staff of 7 musicians and have landed themselves some high profile exposure by being featured in leading guitar magazine “Guitar World” and on “The Gadget Show”.

Jamorama offers 2 different options for learning..

  • Jamorama Online
  • Jamorama Hardcopy Version + Online Access

Here’s What You Get Inside ..

Jamorama Online

Inside the members area they break it up into several parts:

  • Full Beginners Guitar Course
  • Lead Guitar Course
  • Bonus Extras

The Full Beginners Course is broken up into two parts:

Beginners Course Part 1

After downloading the zip file. Inside it you get a full color, 95 Page Book with 15 guitar lessons, photos and chord references This literally takes you by the hand and walks you through every aspect of learning to play guitar. They also include 54 videos showing you how to play chords, strum and sound out the chords you’re playing. They provide you with a large selection of jam tracks.

Inside they cover:

  • Introduction to the guitar (electric and acoustic), the proper way to hold a guitar and pick.
  • 15 Lessons on chord diagrams, chords, music theory, strumming with accompanying jam tracks (everything is tabbed out).
  • 54 Videos showing neck position and strumming angles that take you through over 216 chords (there is literally nothing that they keep hidden, it’s all in full view). One of the biggest challenges with learning guitar from others is understanding how both hands work together, well they show you at the same time so you can’t get lost.
  • 36 Jam Tracks (with and without guitar) so you can hear how it sounds with the guitar and then switch to the one without guitar – making it really easy to jam along with.

Beginners Course Part 2 (Advanced Lessons)

Course 2 picks up where part 1 left off by providing you with another full color 149 page book with 26 lessons, photos and chord references. All the lessons have audio and video to accompany them, so that you are learning visually and audibly. There are 94 videos in this package as well as more jam tracks.

Inside they cover:

  • 26 lessons covering Minor, Major, Barre Chords, 7ths, Rhythm, types of strumming, chord progressions, blues, scales, palm muting, musical theory and a whole lot more!
  • 94 videos covering not only the forming of chords and strumming but you get to see the shapes, strum patterns and the strum structure of up and and down picking.
  • 20 Jam Tracks (with and without guitar playing).

Lead Guitar Course

This appears to be an upsell and actually an entirely separate course that they offer for $49.97 (so while you can see it inside the member’s area, it’s only accessible after purchase).

The course though is really extensive, so I can definitely understand why they offer it separately.

Inside it they cover:

  • Hammer-ons
  • Pull-offs
  • Vibrato
  • Slide Technique
  • Bends
  • Consecutive Bends
  • Start and Target Notes
  • Step Bends
  • Octave Playing
  • Runs
  • Motifs
  • Legato
  • And More…

It also dives into the tricky aspects of how to play fast, lead licks, advanced techniques, the caged chord system, video lessons, jam tracks and they provide you with 30 days access to Songpond (where you can learn all the songs by your favourite bands).

Definitely worth considering if you’re looking to master guitar solos.

Bonus Extras (Lots of Goodies)

In the bonus section which you do have access too, they provide you with a number of extra bonuses which really come in handy, like:

  • A Chord Kit
  • A Tuning Guide
  • Software and Games

Inside the zip file you get access to the 76 page book that they give away for free on their site. It lists every type of chord you can imagine in full color, showing you where to put your fingers. You also get a PC/Mac game that helps you with chords.

Learn Guitar
This is available in both PAL and NTSC versions.

Here is what Jamorama online can do for you…

I told you earlier that I was looking for that special “something” that would allow me to connect both the theory and the practical together.

Jamorama has done that for me.

Since, being able to actually visually see and hear someone playing, and by following their step by step guide it has allowed me to be able to understand the parts that other music teachers were leaving out.

They say “When the student is ready, the master will appear” ..

They were not kidding…

The fact is… this course really does give you a complete “How To Play Guitar” system that works.

The upside also is that you can access anytime, over and over again without monthly subscriptions, so being able to learn at my own speed allowed me to be able to play guitar and learn way faster than I did before.

    • Since then, my ability to be able to learn songs that I like has improved. It’s easier to distinguish what chords are being played, if they are higher up on the neck or barred.
    • It’s given me the ability to nail tricky strum patterns that used to get me frustrated.
    • The Jam tracks were definitely the most invaluable. Knowing when to play, how to play and how much to play is Key in any band setting. I used to just play everything and now I’m getting way more compliments from my band mates and listeners. I guess the old saying of “less is more” is true.

Master the Guitar Now

In Summary…

  • It lets you learn in the comfort of your own home..  at your own pace.
  • There are no monthly fees (so you don’t have to rush through it or copy pages in fear of not learning enough in time).
  • Even if you have never played the guitar they teach you everything from beginner to advanced.
  • You can learn through text, video and audio.
  • They have an online forum and a great support team.
  • They show tons of techniques including how a simple adjustment in your fingers can make you a faster and better player – I should of thought of this!
  • They offer a full 60 days money back guarantee through clickbank, so if you don’t like it you can get your money back.

Here’s The Bottom Line…

I’ve seen guitar teachers charge as much as twice the cost for ongoing weekly lessons that most of the time lead to no-where. Plus, you have to change your schedule around to fit in with their teaching times.

Jamorama lets you learn at your own speed.

Any Complaints?

I really was unable to find anything bad said about Jamorama online prior to purchasing it.

The only negative that I could come across was that someone mentioned that there is no speech in the videos.

While that is true, I never found it an issue as it was pretty clear what you are meant to do. The book tells you and the videos show you. I think if they added in words the videos would have been massive.

Like any good book, leave out the fluff and just give me the good stuff!

However, I did find quite a lot of people giving good feedback on various blogs. Here’s a few…

Your course is so convenient and so straight forward that I’m just happy as can be with my progress so far – Mark Ziggler.

Being able to watch the instructional videos has been extremely helpful – Nicole Walkiewicz.

I’m 60 years old and I’m finally realizing my dream of learning to play the guitar – Nancy Keane.

If I am asked to rate it, I will give it five stars. It offers the easiest guitar learning system I’ve come across, great value for money and they have provided an extensive level of support.. something that no one else does!
Scotty Smith – learntheguitarlessons.com

Like I mentioned, up until now this is the first time I have ever actually found a learn guitar system that actually worked. In a way it was a bit of an “experiment” for me and I’m glad that I took action on it as I tend to be a bit of a lazy ass when it comes to learning.

The way I saw it was, if it’s crap… I’ll just get my money back.

Thankfully, it worked for me.

Honestly, I think they price it way too low for what they give you.

I could go on and on with stories about how it’s helped, but here’s the point: You need to prove to yourself that you can experience a massive difference in your own playing.

If you want to start ripping up the fretboard and you feel that this is the kind of information you’d like to get your hands on…
